What’s more, aluminium can be powder coated to practically any colour, even in a marine grade coating.
Aluminium bi-fold doors, or bi-folding doors, have been growing in popularity over the past decade and have now become recognised as a fundamental feature when designing new-build homes, extensions or even in renovation projects. There are many reasons for this rise in demand and they relate to versatility, space saving, increased natural light and being able to bring your outside inside, with a flush floor level. A folding and sliding door enables you to open up to 90% of a wall, transforming any space.
Suitable for both residential and commercial applications. can be used in domestic applications as either an alternative to sliding doors or to open up an entire wall as part of a conservatory; the system will make the most of a beautiful view or bring a garden into the home.
Used commercially in a bar, café or restaurant, they can create a glazed screen that allows in the maximum ingress of light in inclement weather, and will also easily glide to open up an entire wall in warmer weather.
Low Thresholds – Our bi-folds have the option of either low thresholds for unimpeded, easy access, or rebated thresholds that offer improved weather resistance and are available in a choice of standard or non-standard colours, including dual and a range of textured finishes.
High-Security Locking System – Our folding sliding doors are fitted with the latest high-security locking. On styles supplied with a traffic door, lever handles operate a high-security hook bolt locking system and a profile key cylinder allowing access from both inside and outside. Bi-fold doors supplied without a traffic door do not have external access and can only be opened from the inside by operating the shoot bolt locking system, using the handles fitted to the meeting stiles of the door.
Traffic Door Option – Many styles can be specified with a traffic door which provide a normal day-to-day door leaf, allowing easy access to the garden without opening the whole bi-folding door up, either like a conventional door or French door.
Our range of aluminium bi-fold doors is fully compliant with Doc L of the Building Regulations (Conservation of Fuel and Power).
